1 Introductions, apologies and substitutions
Apologies for absence were received from Elin Jones.
Ken Skates substituted for Mark Drakeford.
2 Consideration of draft letter - Scrutiny of the First Minister Committee meeting on 27 February 2013
Members agreed with the wording of the letter, subject to a change in the penultimate paragraph.
3 Discussion of draft paper - Forthcoming Committee activity - Options for summer term 2013
Members agreed to hold their next meeting in North Wales. The meeting will be during the summer term.
It was agreed that the clerking team would liaise with the First Minister to find a suitable date and location for the meeting.
Members agreed that the topic for the next meeting should be the provision of major infrastructure projects including energy, with a particular focus on examples in North Wales, including rail electrification, A55 improvements, nuclear and renewable energy, grid enhancement and city regions.
Members suggested that the visit to North Wales could also include an engagement the night before the meeting.
Members also suggested holding a public engagement event such as an “open mic session”. The First Minister could also be invited to take part in this activity.
Members commented that they liked the style of briefing provided during the previous meeting, and would like something similar for future meetings.
